HOLSTEINER STALLIONS


Naming Restrictions: Names may not exceed 18 characters, or duplicate a name that has already been used by a registered Holsteiner (excepting full male siblings, which can share names followed by applicable roman numerals: "Calypso I", "Calypso II", etc). Use of the sire's name as part of the foal's name is discouraged. Colts take the same first initial as their sire. Fillies are named on a year-based schedule: 1983 V, 84 W, 85 Z, 86 A, 87 B, 88 C, 89 D, 90 E, 91 F, 92 G, 93 H, 94 I or J, 95 K, 96 L, 97 M, 98 N, 99 O, 2000 P, 01 R, 02 S, 03 T, 04 U, 05 V. Names are short, usually one or two words. Stable initials are used very rarely, and then only after the horse's name.
